About the position
Dental Care of Patchogue is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Hygienist to join their collaborative team. The role emphasizes a supportive environment with a focus on doctor/hygiene collaboration, ensuring a fun and engaging workplace. The hygienist will work flexible hours, primarily on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and will benefit from a strong network of resources and mentorship opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide dental hygiene care to patients
- Collaborate with doctors and other team members
- Document patient medical histories and dental procedures
- Educate patients on oral health and hygiene practices
- Utilize dental technology and equipment as needed
- Participate in continuing education and training sessions
Requirements
- Current dental hygienist license in New York
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene
- Excellent working knowledge of dentistry and dental hygiene procedures
- CPR Certification
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays, and electronic medical record systems
- Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills
