About the position

The Dental Insurance Benefits Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting patients in a high-volume dental practice. This role involves verifying insurance eligibility, explaining benefits, entering patient information into systems, and managing payments. The position requires excellent customer service skills to handle patient inquiries and ensure a positive experience. Training will be provided to help the new hire become proficient in their duties.

Responsibilities

  • Verify eligibility requirements for dental insurance.
  • Describe benefits to patients and potential patients.
  • Enter patient information into computer systems accurately.
  • Calculate and collect required payments such as co-pays and deductibles.
  • Generate reports related to insurance claims and payments.
  • Follow up on denied claims and manage daily insurance claims.
  • Post payments made by patients to their accounts.
  • Handle patient and clinical business calls effectively.
  • Complete registration of new patients, ensuring accurate demographics and insurance information.
  • Schedule appointments for new and existing patients according to clinic protocols.
  • Provide exceptional service to enhance patient loyalty and confidence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in dental insurance verification.
