Responsibilities

  • Reviewing charts and treatment plans
  • Opening and preparing rooms for patients
  • Updating medical history and contact information for patients
  • Setting up rooms with the correct instruments, hand pieces, and materials
  • Pouring alginate impressions
  • Breaking down and sterilizing rooms
  • Maintaining clinic according to State Dental Board regulations
  • Helping to maintain infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Removing and cementing temporary crowns
  • Fabrication of temporary crowns
  • Writing up charts and filling out routers
  • Preparing lab prescriptions
  • Taking intra-oral pictures with a camera
  • Taking preliminary/opposing alginate impressions
  • Taking x-rays; intra-oral or panoramic, developing/duplicating when necessary
  • Talking to patients about current office promotions and programs
  • Ensuring patient comfort at all times
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Dental Assistant license
  • X-Ray Certification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of dental assisting experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in medical imaging
  • Spanish language proficiency
