About the position

Heartland Dental is seeking a dedicated Dental Receptionist to join our team at Winchester Dental Care. In this role, you will be an integral part of our front office team, where your primary responsibility will be to create a welcoming environment for our patients. You will greet and welcome patients as they enter the office, ensuring they feel valued and cared for from the moment they arrive. Your role will also involve managing various front office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating effectively with patients and insurance companies. Utilizing Dentrix, you will handle patient scheduling and maintain accurate records. You will be responsible for scheduling and confirming appointments for multiple providers, ensuring that our office runs smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, you will file patient insurance claims, follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage options to patients. Your financial responsibilities will include posting insurance and patient payments, processing accounts receivables, and reviewing treatment plan fees and payment options with patients. As a Dental Receptionist, you will partner closely with our providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems, optimizing the office's potential and enhancing patient care. Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the office to create a great first impression.
  • Manage front office duties, including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records management.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers in the office.
  • File patient insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims, including verification of benefits and explanation of coverage.
  • Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivables.
  • Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
  • Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training will be required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting.
  • 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
