About the position

The Dental Office Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the dental practice, overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills and proficiency in dental software systems, particularly Dentrix, to maintain high standards of patient care and office efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the dental office, ensuring efficient workflow and patient satisfaction.
  • Manage staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a high standard of service.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Utilize Dentrix and other systems for scheduling appointments, billing, and managing patient information.
  • Provide administrative support including handling correspondence, managing inventory, and ordering supplies.
  • Assist in developing office policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare management practices relevant to the dental field.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dental/medical office management or similar roles within healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of critical care protocols as they relate to dental practices is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in dental settings will be beneficial but is not required.
  • Willingness to train and coach individuals with strong management and leadership background without dental experience.
