About the position
As an Orthodontic Assistant with Mainstreet Orthodontics in Belton, you will play a vital role in ensuring children develop healthy habits and a lifetime of beautiful smiles. This position involves working closely with a fun team of professionals dedicated to providing quality care, while also supporting the training and development of less experienced dental assistants.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists in providing care to patients.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area and equipment.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Educate patients and their families on oral hygiene and orthodontic care.
- Manage patient records and appointments.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
- Participate in office meetings and continuing education events.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Orthodontic Assistant state certification (including nitrous oxide, dental radiology, EFDA or EDDA).
- CPR certification required.
- Minimum of 1-year orthodontic assisting experience preferred.
- Experience in a professional, medical, or dental environment with direct customer service is desired.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn and use new programs as required.
- Experience with general office equipment such as fax and copy machines.
