About the position
The Supervisory Dentist at the Lebanon VA Medical Center oversees the Dental Department, providing guidance and management to ensure high standards of patient care. The role includes functioning as a Dentist, accepting inpatient and outpatient consults, and supervising other dental professionals. The incumbent is responsible for operational aspects of the Dental Service, ensuring efficient and patient-centric care in collaboration with various medical departments.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and oversight to the Dental Department.
- Function as a Dentist in all aspects of patient care, including inpatient and outpatient care.
- Accept inpatient and outpatient consults from Primary Care and other Specialty clinic providers.
- Supervise other dentists and professional staff to ensure high standards of clinical care.
- Manage operational aspects of the Dental Service, including establishing clinical care standards and quality assurance.
- Develop strong working relationships with other leaders within the medical center.
- Assist the Dental Chief in day-to-day operations of the Dental Clinic.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a U.S. state or territory.
