About the position
The Department Area Supervisor at dd's Discounts plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager with the overall operations of the store. This position is responsible for ensuring that company standards are met, supervising assigned areas, and maintaining high levels of customer service. The supervisor will also be involved in training and developing associates while executing business plans to achieve sales and profit goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in managing store operations in their absence.
- Ensure that company standards and expectations are consistently met.
- Execute business plans to deliver desired sales and profit.
- Maintain high-quality customer service.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and developing associates.
- Drive shortage control programs to achieve desired results.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of management experience in a retail environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store associates.
- Ability to train, coach, and develop associates.
- Highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts.
- Must be able to move around all areas of the store and stand/walk for extended periods.
