About the position

We're seeking an energetic and self-motivated person to serve as the Assistant Director of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) for the Department of Public Safety. The Assistant Director will be responsible for handling EEO complaints, will conduct EEO investigations, and will develop and implement EEO policies. The Assistant Director also serves as the leader of EEO training and development for all Public Safety employees. Responsibilities

• Serve as an advisor to the director on activities and functions related to the department.
• Participate in the formulation and implementation of rules, regulations, and policies.
• Develop and coordinate special projects or programs initiated by the department, such as the Small Business Concierge.
• Oversee and coordinate administrative or operational functions, such as departmental fiscal and public/media relations, within the department.
• Prepare comprehensive and technical reports, documents, and correspondence.
• Represent the director or the department at meetings with constituencies, civic associations, business and special interest groups, community and neighborhood groups, or the public.
• Keep the director informed, on a timely basis, of all situations that could affect the accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements
