About the position

The Department Head for Power Equipment is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and maximizing sales through effective execution of company procedures. This role involves assisting customers, managing inventory, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment while adhering to company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with special order requests and locate merchandise.
• Inform customers about product knowledge that may be helpful.
• Greet each customer within 10 feet.
• Verify proper product rotation and basic stocking of merchandise in multiple departments.
• Remove damaged merchandise from the floor as needed.
• Review and correct outages and overstocks to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Follow company guidelines for department merchandising and setting store ads and sale signage.
• Identify and display new items at their designated location with management approval.
• Demonstrate strong merchandising presentation skills for in-aisles, end caps, and displays.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment while following loss prevention and safety procedures.
• Conduct regular area safety checks.
• Attend store and job-related meetings and review the F&H Weekly Update distributed every Monday.
• Communicate professionally with customers, management, and all store employees.
• Assist with price changes, markdowns, and labeling of merchandise.
• Operate cash registers and assist with customer carry outs.
• Maintain and control an organized stock room area.
• Complete required online job training available on the Outfitters website.

Requirements

• Minimum age requirement is 18 years old.
• Great customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Six months of previous retail experience is preferred.
• Positive attitude with a passion for collaborating with team members.

• Experience in merchandising and inventory management.
