About the position
The Department Lead at Rural King is responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of a designated department within the store. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring cleanliness, executing price changes, and providing exceptional customer service. The Department Lead plays a crucial role in maintaining high merchandising standards and enhancing the overall shopping experience for customers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee scanning outs, inventory management, recovery, price changes, and planogram sets.
- Maintain department cleanliness and adhere to the indoor merchandising guide.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock counts and reconciliations.
- Coordinate and execute price changes accurately and efficiently.
- Manage the implementation of playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service using the customer engagement model.
- Support front-end operations by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
- Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments.
- Actively engage in learning initiatives such as training programs and workshops.

Requirements
- At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of specific department.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated adaptability to changing priorities and unexpected challenges.
- Ability to remain composed during high-pressure situations.
- Comfortable navigating computer systems and software.
