About the position

The Department Lead at Rural King plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operations of the assigned department. This position involves overseeing inventory management, maintaining department cleanliness, executing price changes, and providing exceptional customer service. The Department Lead is responsible for creating an appealing shopping environment while adhering to company standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee scanning outs, inventory management, and recovery processes.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies in inventory.
• Coordinate and execute price changes accurately and efficiently.
• Manage the implementation of playbook features and planogram sets.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the department.
• Provide exceptional customer service using the customer engagement model.
• Support at the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments.
• Actively participate in learning initiatives such as training programs and workshops.
• Demonstrate behaviors that exemplify Rural King's Values.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of specific department.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail.
• Comfortable navigating computer systems and software.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with retail equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
