About the position

The Department Lead for Pets/Birds at Rural King Supply is responsible for overseeing the operations of the assigned department, ensuring efficient inventory management, maintaining cleanliness, and providing exceptional customer service. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the shopping experience and supporting the overall goals of the store by adhering to company standards and engaging with customers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient operations of the assigned department.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular stock counts and reconciliations.
• Coordinate and execute price changes and ensure accurate pricing labels and signage.
• Maintain department cleanliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
• Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with inquiries and product location.
• Support front-end operations by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments.
• Engage in learning initiatives to acquire new knowledge and refine existing skills.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected challenges.
• Experience in providing exceptional customer service.
