About the position
The Department Lead for Pets/Birds at Rural King is responsible for overseeing the operations of the assigned department, ensuring efficient inventory management, maintaining cleanliness, and providing exceptional customer service. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the shopping experience and supporting the overall goals of the store by adhering to company standards and engaging with customers effectively.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the efficient operations of the assigned department.
- Manage inventory levels through regular stock counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Ensure department cleanliness and adherence to sanitation protocols.
- Coordinate and execute price changes and maintain accurate pricing labels.
- Implement planogram sets and merchandising standards to maximize sales potential.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assist customers with inquiries and concerns.
- Support front-end operations by processing transactions as needed.
- Participate in cross-training for flexibility in various departments.
- Engage in learning initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate Rural King's core values in daily activities.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Comfortable navigating computer systems and software.
