About the position

The Department Lead at US Foods is responsible for overseeing the Dry, Disposables, and Culinary Equipment Supplies (CES) departments, ensuring effective inventory management, merchandise presentation, and quality customer service. This role includes Manager on Duty responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, and requires open availability for scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper inventory levels based on store capacity, promotions, customer requests, and seasonal merchandise.
• Complete all daily orders to maximize departmental sales.
• Drive and maintain superior customer service, freshness, and in-stocks.
• Execute daily date checks for product freshness.
• Train, motivate, and develop staff to meet company standards.
• Maintain appealing presentation and pricing standards in assigned areas.
• Utilize computer systems for various tasks as needed.
• Stock shelves, set up displays, ring up merchandise, and perform cleaning duties.
• Open and close the CHEF'STORE in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
• Perform Manager on Duty functions as needed.
• Promote and model the company's cultural beliefs.
• Ensure a safe and well-maintained facility by following safety policies and practices.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three (3) years' experience in a retail setting, restaurant, or customer service environment.
• Supervisory or Lead experience preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends.
• Competency with computer use, word processing, email, and internet software.
