About the position

The Department Lead at US Foods is responsible for overseeing the Dry, Disposables, Culinary Equipment Supplies (CES), and fresh departments. This role includes managing inventory levels, ensuring quality customer service, and maintaining appealing merchandise presentation. The lead will also take on Manager on Duty responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, including opening and closing the CHEF'STORE.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper inventory levels based on store capacity, promotions, customer requests, and seasonal merchandise.
  • Maximize departmental sales by driving superior customer service and maintaining freshness and stock levels.
  • Train, motivate, and develop staff to meet service standards.
  • Maintain appealing presentation and pricing standards in assigned areas.
  • Utilize computer systems as needed for operations.
  • Stock shelves, set up displays, ring up merchandise, and perform cleaning duties as required.
  • Open and close the CHEF'STORE in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
  • Correct safety issues and notify store management of any existing safety concerns.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of experience in a retail setting, restaurant, or customer service environment.
  • Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Competency with computer use, including word processing, email, and internet software.
