About the position

The Department of State Aide position is a full-time role responsible for servicing customers at the Rochester Hills and Oakland County branch offices. The aide will review requests, process transactions, and educate customers on services, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in serving Michigan citizens. This position may involve occasional travel to other branch offices and requires flexibility in working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requests and eligibility for services.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Educate customers on available services and alternative methods.
  • Work with a sense of purpose and urgency to assist Michigan citizens.
  • Handle high volumes of customer traffic and various transactions in a branch office setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • For Aide 7: One year of experience equivalent to a Department of State Aide 6.
  • For Aide E8: Two years of experience equivalent to a Department of State Aide, including one year equivalent to a Department State Aide 7.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service roles.
  • Experience with cash handling and transactions.
  • Familiarity with data entry and retrieval tasks.
