About the position

The Departmental Budget Analyst position is responsible for managing and processing all budget-related documents for the Print Shop within the Wake County Public School System. This role serves as the first point of contact for school and department staff, providing customer service and support while ensuring accurate financial operations. The position requires a blend of accounting knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage, initiate, prepare, and process all related budget documents for the Print Shop, including contracts, direct pay, purchase orders, and travel sheets.
• Provide customer service by handling job orders, job quotes, and ensuring timely and accurate invoice billing.
• Prepare and process internal and external receivables and vendor invoices.
• Reconcile and monitor Print Shop receivable accounts and vendor statements with the WCPSS financial system ledger.
• Perform preflight functions on customer-based files as needed.
• Assist with small design work as assigned.
• Manage digital storefront web-based requests for service and Print Shop email accounts.
• Provide consistent, high-quality customer service and offer solutions to inquiries and requests.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in accounting or business.
• Five years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
• Strong skills in budgeting, purchasing, and procurement procedures.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in print, production, and finishing.
• Knowledge of Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) financial systems and processes.
• Experience working with Oracle business applications.
