About the position

The Deposit Operations Associate at Journey Bank plays a crucial role in supporting the bank's deposit operations function. This position involves processing inquiries, maintaining accounts, and ensuring accurate record-keeping for various bank deposit accounts. The associate will work closely with customers and bank personnel to address inquiries and assist in the maintenance of deposit account processing equipment. This full-time role is based at the Muncy Community Office and offers a sense of purpose by contributing to the financial well-being of the local community.

Responsibilities

  • Process inquiries and maintenance accounts and files.
  • Process information and files for all types of bank deposit accounts; verifies information and ensures accounts are properly established to provide accurate record keeping.
  • Perform various duties relating to deposit account and related products.
  • Input data on the system consistent with established procedures.
  • Make necessary corrections and re-enter data as required.
  • Scan deposit account information; ensures that all accounts are properly maintained.
  • Research and process all inquiries from customers and bank personnel relating to deposit account information and related products.
  • Assist in the proper maintenance of all deposit account processing equipment; report malfunctions and problems to supervisor.
  • Assist the Deposit Operations Supervisor, Manager, and other deposit operations positions, as needed.
  • Back up the morning and nightly processing functions as part of a rotation, as needed.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with preference for advanced degree and/or training in business or financial related field of study.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a banking or related position normally required.
  • Excellent verbal communication, including strong grammar and vocabulary skills; excellent active listening skills.
  • Ability to deal with conflict and maintain composure.
  • Proficiency using personal computer and all bank software applications.
  • Ability to take ownership of customer inquiries as well as initiative to build an expert-level knowledge of bank products and procedures.
  • Cooperate with, participate in, and promote adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, soundness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
