About the position

The position involves creating and managing the development of test scripts utilizing both automated and manual testing tools to support testing efforts and speed to market across departmental lines, focusing on user experience. The role requires staying current with emerging technologies, their strengths and weaknesses, and their application to testing and/or business solutions. The essential functions include providing test guidance on various types of testing, developing testing task durations and estimates, reviewing requirements and technical designs, maintaining test designs and automation scripts, communicating progress to management, supporting integration of test environments with automation tools, participating in reviews of test specifications, assisting in defect investigation, and serving as a technical liaison for the testing team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide test guidance on all types of testing, including automation, functional, systems integration, user acceptance, browser, and help documentation.
  • Develop, identify, and provide testing task durations and estimates.
  • Review requirements and technical designs to ensure clarity for further understanding of test design/script development.
  • Develop and maintain test designs/automation scripts based on an analysis of requirements, use cases, and technical designs.
  • Communicate development of test scripts and test execution progress to management.
  • Support and/or implement the integration of test environments with automation tools.
  • Participate and provide guidance in external reviews for test specifications written by test analysts to better align to automation test scripting.
  • Initiate internal reviews and facilitate external reviews of test designs/scripts.
  • Assist where needed for defect investigation and resolution.
  • Serve as a technical liaison for the testing team and investigate new tools to support testing, improve quality, and reduce time to market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the business disciplines or equivalent education and related experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a test analyst or comparable position.
  • Experience in various software development methodologies.
  • Knowledgeable in testing repository tools.
  • Critical thinker, able to identify and mitigate risks and manage complex testing efforts on tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and quickly adjust to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience with automation scripting and tools.
