About the position

The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the Bank's daily proof processing, data entry, and reconciliation processes. This role involves reviewing and processing daily proof work, assisting Bank associates with error resolution, and overseeing various banking operations, including ACH and check processing. The specialist will also handle client requests, perform research tasks, and ensure compliance with banking regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily proof processing and data entry, including reject correction and transaction balancing.
  • Perform reconciliation processes, including GL balancing.
  • Review and process daily proof work accurately.
  • Support Bank associates in resolving errors and coordinating adjustments and corrections.
  • Oversee processing of various files and cash letters in the core banking system and process them to the Federal Reserve.
  • Support the Bank with Regulation E disputes, ACH affidavits, and check returns.
  • Perform centralized insufficient item processing and monitor user limits for deposit account overdraft compliance.
  • Conduct client-requested statement or item research as needed.
  • Assist with court-ordered subpoena research requests as directed.
  • Perform dormant account review and related maintenance.
  • Provide backup for Wire/ACH daily duties, including dual control wire validation and processing incoming wires.
  • Process collection items, including international items or Treasury Reclamations as needed.
  • Review daily reports and coordinate with third-party vendors.
  • Escalate production issues to internal support teams as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and telephone skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple and varied duties in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately to meet daily deadlines.
  • Ability to research and correct outages.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the services and products offered by the bank.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to use basic office equipment.
  • 10-key data entry speed of at least 8,000 kph preferred.
