About the position

The Deposit Operations Specialist position at North American Savings Bank (NASB) is a phone-based role that requires a candidate who is comfortable working primarily through telephone communication. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities. This role is situated within the Deposit Services Department, which is responsible for providing assistance to both customers and branch personnel through various channels, including phone and digital platforms. The department oversees all back-office deposit processes for NASB, which encompasses item processing, ACH transactions, debit and digital banking support, CIP oversight, IRA administration, online account opening management, research and adjustment services, as well as deposit account collections and legal processing. In this role, the Deposit Operations Specialist will be responsible for handling a high volume of inbound calls, with occasional outbound calls as needed. The specialist will provide exceptional customer service to both external and internal customers, efficiently resolving customer issues and assisting with account inquiries. A thorough understanding of deposit products and services is essential, as the specialist will need to explain these to customers. Additionally, the role involves performing data and monetary maintenance on customer accounts and records, cross-training, and backing up other processes within the Deposit Services Department as assigned. The specialist will also be responsible for processing incoming ACH transactions, check adjustments, stop payments, Reg E opt-in requests, and reconciliation of general ledgers, among other duties. The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some Saturdays from 9:00 AM to Noon. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, combining both in-office and remote work, providing flexibility to the employee.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • PC skills and experience with MS Office Word and Excel.
