About the position

The Deposit Operations Specialist at Wallis Bank is responsible for managing various operational tasks related to deposit accounts, ensuring efficient processing of transactions, and providing exceptional customer service. This role involves handling complex requests, processing legal matters, and maintaining compliance with bank policies while supporting both customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Complete various branch requests such as customer phone transfers, DDL setups, and automatic transfers to other Financial Institutions.
  • Process NSF's and non-post items, chargeback items, large dollar item verification, address changes, dormant account release requests, and stop payments in a timely manner.
  • Process legal matters such as Tax Levies, Garnishments, Freezes, Subpoenas, and Summons.
  • Process and/or verify wire transfers as needed.
  • Prepare adjustments such as encoding errors, duplicate presentments, and fraudulent items.
  • Process collection items, verification of deposit, and return mail processing.
  • Conduct daily cash balancing of branch tellers, Loomis vault, and balancing of various general ledger accounts.
  • Monitor various daily reports such as stop payments, closed accounts, dormant accounts, file maintenance, and ACH.
  • Monitor overdraft protection reports and add protection to qualifying customers.
  • Process research requests from customers and branches.
  • Prepare monthly reporting for Reg D, overdraft account reporting, cash over/short reporting, IOLTA, and non-loan loss accounts.
  • Conduct yearly unclaimed property reporting and monitor W-8 forms for foreign customers.
  • Process research requests for Subpoenas.
  • Monitor monthly maintenance reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service support to branches, customers, and employees.
  • Follow established bank policies and procedures.
  • Participate in at least one CRA related event per calendar year.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude despite occasionally dealing with complex and stressful situations.
  • 1 year of experience in Banking, Customer Service, and Deposit Operations.
