About the position

The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of deposit transactions within a banking environment. This role involves quality control, account maintenance, customer service, and collaboration with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality checks on transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review new and closed accounts.
• Process mobile/remote deposit verifications.
• Process General Ledger (GL) transactions and research rejected transactions.
• Review account maintenance tasks such as address changes and account closures.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues related to deposit accounts.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
• Identify and report potential risks related to deposit operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of transactions and customer interactions.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Complete required training assigned by compliance/IT and provide training to new employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 3 years of banking or accounting experience preferred.
• Proficient with Excel.
• Excellent personal computer skills.
• Good interpersonal skills; professional in appearance and communication.
• Previous banking experience preferred.
