About the position

The Deposit Specialist at Sovereign Bank plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining the needs of large deposit customers. This position involves providing exceptional customer service, supporting various operational functions, and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The specialist will work closely with the Retail Banking department and the Director of Operations, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the bank's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Represent oneself and the bank in a positive, courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in response to requests, inquiries, or problems concerning operational services provided by the Bank.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all large deposit customers from onboarding through the life of the relationship.
  • Collect and complete information gathering for large deposit customers to fulfill any account requests.
  • Manage and monitor large deposit customer daily transactional activity accordingly.
  • Manage the cash vault services with appropriate vendors for bank customers.
  • Assist in managing Output Verification process of daily maintenance and new accounts to ensure all details of the account are accurately reflected on the system.
  • Ensure all deposit account documents have been archived.
  • Review exception tracking daily to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate effectively to frontline employees on outstanding needs.
  • Support both the Retail Banking department and Director of Operations as needed.
  • Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Follow bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • At least one year of banking experience in teller area/new accounts area, with excellent performance and balancing records required.
  • 2-3 years of general banking experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent multitasking skills.
  • Excellent client service skills, including interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with the services offered by the Bank.
  • Proficient knowledge and familiarity with Treasury products.
  • Proficient computer skills.
