About the position
The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking a Departmental Analyst to work in the Office of Consumer Services. This role focuses on protecting consumers and maintaining public confidence in Michigan's insurance and financial services industries. The analyst will review and analyze consumer complaints, ensuring compliance with statutes and policy language, while communicating effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze consumer complaints regarding insurance and financial services.
- Ensure compliance of DIFS' licensees with statutes and policy language.
- Communicate with consumers, licensees, legislative offices, and other state departments.
- Convert complex statutes and policy forms into consumer-friendly formats.
- Participate in webinars, conference calls, and employee development training.
Requirements
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
- For Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
- For Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year at the intermediate (10) level in state service.
