About the position

The Data Strategy, Governance and Delivery Department Manager at Honda is a critical role responsible for defining, developing, and managing the company's data strategy, governance, and delivery functions. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's data-driven decision-making processes, ensuring that data is effectively utilized to drive business outcomes. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish data and analytics requirements, standards, and best practices, while also architecting solutions that facilitate efficient data collection, storage, retrieval, and utilization. In addition to overseeing data and analytics strategy and architecture, the manager will establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance. This includes implementing data quality frameworks and monitoring data integrity across various systems. The role also involves managing the end-to-end development of data products and platforms, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data and analytics solutions. The manager will work closely with data scientists and analysts to design and implement predictive and prescriptive models, leveraging advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and AI algorithms to extract actionable insights from data. Furthermore, the manager will define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of data initiatives and regularly report on the value generated from these investments. This role requires a strategic mindset focused on driving business outcomes and optimizing data initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a robust data and analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data and analytics requirements, standards, and best practices.
  • Architect data and analytics solutions that enable efficient data collection, storage, retrieval, and utilization.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance.
  • Implement data quality frameworks and monitor data integrity across systems.
  • Manage the unit and/or program(s) responsible for end-to-end data product/platform development, from ideation to deployment.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality data and analytics solutions.
  • Enable collaboration with data scientists and analysts to design, develop, and implement predictive and prescriptive models.
  • Drive actionable recommendations based on analytical findings and explore AI technologies for business challenges.
  • Define KPIs and metrics to measure the impact of data initiatives and analytics projects.
  • Regularly report on the value generated from data investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience in Data and Analytics.
  • 10+ years of overall experience in Information Systems related field.
  • Proficiency in Data Management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, etc.), Informatica, Analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, QLIK).
  • Proficiency and experience with Cloud Data management and Analytics solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business outcomes.
  • Experience in management level presentations.
  • Experience managing vendors.
  • Experience in developing strategic plans and roadmaps.
