About the position
The Dept Specialist Key Carrier at The Save Mart Companies is responsible for overseeing front-end operations and staff in the absence of the Assistant Center Store Manager. This role focuses on ensuring exceptional customer service, managing performance and productivity, and maintaining compliance with company standards. The Key Carrier Specialist also directs and trains front-end associates, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers while handling cash management and store balancing functions.
Responsibilities
- Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding store associates accountable for excellent customer service.
- Manage front-end performance and productivity, including cash handling procedures and compliance checks.
- Directly lead Clerks and Clerk's Helpers, focusing on accountability and achieving high business performance in the assigned area.
- Ensure that front-end and parking lot conditions are met, including cleanliness and merchandising standards.
- Perform store balancing functions to enhance the shopping experience.
- Monitor customer experience on the front-end and occasionally maintain total store operations in the absence of store management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one year of prior work experience, including at least six months in grocery or retail.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong training and supervision skills.
- Good counting and math skills.
- Knowledge of front-end operations and check stand procedures.
