About the position

The Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff serves as the Deputy Corps G3/5/7, overseeing the planning and execution of operations, training, and readiness for a significant number of active duty soldiers. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency of operations and the accomplishment of missions, providing technical expertise and continuity to the Corps Commander and staff. The position involves direct supervision of staff, participation in operational planning, and representation of the Corps G3 at various events.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct planning and execution of operations, training, and readiness.
  • Provide critical continuity and technical expertise to the Corps G3/5/7 and Corps Commander.
  • Represent the Corps G3 at conferences, meetings, and seminars.
  • Ensure plans and policies align with the commander's mission priorities and objectives.
  • Recommend programs or major projects for initiation or termination.
  • Provide professional advice for operations, plans, and force integration.
  • Direct technical functions associated with the Sustainable Readiness Process (SRP).
  • Maintain liaison with higher headquarters on planning and execution of operations.
  • Provide technical supervision over the staff and assign work based on priorities.
  • Participate in operational planning and program development for mission requirements.
  • Ensure organizational goals are met and functions are integrated effectively.
  • Exercise personnel management responsibilities and represent the G3 when unavailable.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience overseeing the Army Sustainable Readiness Program for a General Officer Army Corps.
  • Expert knowledge of doctrine, regulations, and policies governing training readiness and operations.
  • Experience evaluating program policies and coordinating multi-functional actions to achieve objectives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in military operations and force management plans.
