About the position

The Deputy Assistant Commissioner and Chief Information Security Officer at the Department of the Treasury is responsible for leading and managing the Fiscal Service Information Security Program. This role involves developing information security strategies, policies, and procedures, coordinating compliance, and managing high-value asset programs. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the security of critical information assets while promoting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the U.S. Government.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Fiscal Service Information Security Program.
  • Develop information security strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor bureau information security risks and compliance.
  • Manage the high-value asset (HVA) program.
  • Address government-wide and departmental information security requirements.
  • Foster collaboration with technology and security leadership to implement information security policies and guidelines.
  • Develop and deploy a comprehensive strategy for the Fiscal Service Information Security Program.
  • Promote IT security across the systems development life cycle.
  • Oversee the delivery of information assurance services, including IT security testing and assessment.
  • Review and analyze bureau IT investments to ensure compliance with information security policies.
  • Direct and oversee the Bureau High Value Asset (HVA) Program and Vulnerability Management Program.
  • Provide expert assistance and advice regarding the bureau's Information Security Program.

Requirements

  • At least one year of progressively responsible leadership experience indicative of senior executive level managerial capability.
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal Cyber Regulations (i.e., FISMA).
  • Demonstrated professional and executive level technical knowledge in leading an enterprise-wide information security program.
  • Experience in developing information security strategies, plans, and policies that align with cybersecurity mandates.
  • Experience in developing an information security curriculum and training program.
