The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Revenue Officer. This is a full-time career position with a competitive salary range of $285,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year, which includes comprehensive health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan. In this pivotal role, the Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Revenue Officer will spearhead the department's revenue-generating initiatives, focusing on optimizing operations across various streams such as ticket sales, sponsorships, multimedia rights, licensing, and merchandising. The successful candidate will supervise key administrative areas, act as a sport administrator, and lead departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing revenue generation, marketing, communications, and resource allocation. This role requires collaboration with the Director of the DIA and participation in the executive team, emphasizing strategic planning, market analysis, and the development of innovative revenue streams to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the department. Additionally, the Deputy Athletics Director will ensure that assigned sport programs maintain their competitive edge, consistently ranking among the top in the nation. Candidates for this position should possess a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience within a major research university or a similarly complex institution, ideally within a large university or comparable program. A deep understanding of the college sports landscape and its revenue streams is essential, along with a proven track record of successful revenue growth and management. The role demands strong financial analysis skills, excellent negotiation and relationship-building capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of intercollegiate athletics. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to articulate the university's mission and strategic objectives effectively. The ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including External Affairs, campus leadership, and volunteers, is crucial. Furthermore, the candidate must demonstrate strong management and supervisory skills, including staff recruitment, retention, and professional development, as well as strategic planning and organizational skills to adapt to evolving market conditions. Compliance with department, university, conference, and NCAA regulations is mandatory, and the ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
