About The Position

The Deputy Attorney General I-V for the White Collar Crime Unit in the Fraud and Consumer Protection Division is responsible for prosecuting financial misconduct crimes and other criminal matters assigned by the Division Director. This role involves working closely with investigative partners, making prosecutorial decisions, and representing the Unit in various legal proceedings. The position is based in New Castle County but requires travel throughout the state for court proceedings and meetings.

Requirements

• Membership in the Delaware Bar is required.
• Strong commitment to working in the public interest.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Solid academic achievement and relevant work experience.
• Good writing skills and understanding of complex criminal matters.

Nice To Haves

• Substantial felony trial experience.
• Experience handling document-intensive cases involving financial misconduct.
• Familiarity with finance, tax, or accounting.

Responsibilities

• Decide which cases should be prosecuted and which should plead out.
• Extend specific plea offers on a case-by-case basis.
• Resolve cases through trial when necessary.
• Represent the Unit at meetings involving business crime issues.
• Meet with referral agencies to address investigation and prosecution issues.
• Perform intakes and review cases for prosecution.
