About the position

The County of San Diego is seeking exemplary candidates for the position of Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO) across four key groups: Finance & General Government Group, Health & Human Services Agency, Land Use & Environment Group, and Public Safety Group. This role is integral to the executive team, reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The DCAOs will be responsible for directing, organizing, and overseeing all activities within their designated group, ensuring that operations align with the county's strategic goals and objectives. In this capacity, the DCAOs will aid the CAO in the coordination of county operations, program planning, development, and implementation. This includes managing resources effectively, fostering collaboration among departments, and ensuring that services are delivered efficiently and equitably to the community. The DCAOs will also play a crucial role in promoting the county's vision of a just, sustainable, and resilient future for all, while upholding values such as integrity, equity, access, belonging, excellence, and sustainability. Requirements

  • Knowledge of public administration principles and practices.
