About the position

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) will play a crucial role in overseeing the Finance and Grant Operations Team at the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the DCFO will manage the Risk and Compliance Team and the Corporate Finance Team, ensuring effective financial planning, risk management, and compliance with GPE policies. This position is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives and fostering relationships with external stakeholders to enhance GPE's mission of improving education systems in low-income countries.

Responsibilities

• Deputize for the Chief Financial Officer on all aspects of GPE finances and risk management functions.
• Lead the budget development and internal oversight, reporting, and reallocation of a unit budget of over $60 million per year.
• Provide direct technical leadership to the Corporate Finance sub-team responsible for financial planning, management, and analysis of the US$1 billion per year GPE Fund.
• Provide direct technical leadership to the Risk and Compliance sub-team responsible for corporate risk management and ensuring compliance with GPE policies.
• Lead financial and risk management work on high value/high risk cross-cutting initiatives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in business administration, finance, assurance and risk management, accounting, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in a senior operations, risk, or finance role, including extensive people management experience.
