About the position

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) at Asian Health Services plays a crucial role in leading the finance department under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position is responsible for overseeing the financial administration of the organization, including the development and maintenance of accounting and billing policies. The DCFO will also engage in budget management, cost-benefit analyses, and financial forecasting, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This role requires strategic financial input and leadership to support the organization's mission of providing comprehensive health services to diverse communities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Financial Officer in planning, implementing, and evaluating the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Help maintain an accounting system that provides timely and accurate budgets for the organization, including for new and ongoing grants.
  • Assist in the development and execution of Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) rate-setting strategies, annual cost reports, and reconciliations.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to improve overall operation and effectiveness.
  • Work with external auditors as needed.
  • Conduct supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and performance appraisals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and supervision of staff, with at least three years in the healthcare environment.
  • Federally Qualified Health Center specific experience.
