About the position

The Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) plays a critical role in leading and directing the Agency's IT management program, ensuring compliance with various federal laws and policies. This position involves strategic planning, policy development, and oversight of information systems to enhance operational efficiency and support the Agency's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate short and long-range strategic goals based on industry best practices and federal mandates.
  • Develop action plans and conduct investment reviews to improve management information systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of information systems based on applicable performance measures.
  • Direct policy development to streamline reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Participate in e-Government initiatives to enhance service delivery through IT.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience indicative of senior executive level management capability.
  • Experience at or above the GS-14/15 grade level in federal service or equivalent in the private sector.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with end-to-end security requirements management for enterprise IT services.
  • Familiarity with principles of service delivery and design to improve operational efficiency.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate complex ideas to various audiences.
