The Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO)/ Executive Director plays a pivotal role in the strategic leadership of the Information Management and Technology (IMT) Division at the College of Southern Maryland. This position is responsible for assisting the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in overseeing the IMT Division, providing operational and technical oversight for privacy and cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives, and driving innovation to enhance college technology performance. The DCIO will lead key projects, manage IT operations, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the college's technology framework. In this role, the DCIO drives operational and technology alignment and oversees cost-saving initiatives to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with business needs, maximizing value return and customer satisfaction. The individual will provide leadership in the planning and development of all aspects of technology and will be responsible for overseeing IT-related initiatives that strengthen campus-wide IT services. The DCIO will ensure that IT projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet functional and operational requirements. Additionally, the DCIO will oversee performance evaluations for the Database Administrator and Programmer Analyst, ensuring that the IT division operates effectively and efficiently. The position requires a strong focus on strategic planning, leadership, project management, IT governance, compliance, budget management, stakeholder engagement, and fostering innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department. The DCIO will collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to understand their IT needs and provide effective solutions, while also promoting a culture of innovation and process improvement within the IT division. This role is essential for the college's mission to provide high-quality education and support to its diverse student body.
