About the position

The position involves leading and managing the Technology team at KIPP Texas Public Schools, focusing on empowering team members, driving strategic planning for educational technology, and ensuring effective communication of technology updates across the organization. Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor Technology team leaders, fostering high standards and best-in-class customer service.
  • Empower team members to proactively problem-solve and encourage innovation across the organization.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities, ensuring strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Share candid, solutions-oriented feedback with peers and leadership to improve outcomes for students.
  • Engage in all school-wide and organizational professional development initiatives.
  • Communicate complex technology updates and strategic decisions clearly across different levels within KIPP.
  • Drive the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational technology platforms.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with School Leaders and Operational Leaders to enhance technology use.
  • Collaborate with Academics and Business Intelligence teams to maximize student learning outcomes.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans for the organization's technology systems with clear goals.
  • Administer and ensure the security of the organization's technology systems.
  • Oversee the implementation and enforcement of data protection and technology governance policies.
  • Strengthen partnerships across departments focusing on process improvements that benefit students and educators.
  • Develop systems for real-time data analytics to optimize resource allocation and tech support.
  • Guide the IT team to explore and integrate emerging technologies aligned with KIPP's commitment to innovation.
  • Build a roadmap for infrastructure expansion and maintenance to meet KIPP's growth goals.
  • Oversee the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of network and server infrastructure.
  • Lead the IT support function ensuring timely resolution of technology issues for students and staff.
  • Monitor and oversee the technology budget ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with procurement policies.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in technology, ideally within a multi-site organization, preferably in school settings.
  • Proven record of leading transformative IT projects and leveraging technology for equity in education.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise technology systems, including applications, operating systems, hardware, telecommunications, and networks.
  • Experience managing large-scale technology projects with a successful project management track record.
  • Ability to lead through change and drive cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Skilled in communicating complex procedures to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with E-Rate management preferred.
  • Strong commitment to racial and educational equity and fostering an inclusive team culture.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
