About the position

The Deputy Chief of Staff for Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power at the United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) plays a vital role in managing a diverse portfolio of over 30 programs with a budget exceeding $9 billion. This position involves providing critical support to the Program Executive Officer, ensuring effective communication and workflow management across multiple geographic locations and a large staff. The role requires strong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop personnel while navigating the complexities of space domain awareness and related mission areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide critical support to the Program Executive Officer for Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power.
  • Serve as a liaison between senior acquisition officials and a large staff across various locations.
  • Guide contractor staff in maintaining and managing workflow processes for the directorate.
  • Apply acquisition knowledge to ensure continuity of support for various programs.
  • Lead teams to accomplish objectives and develop innovative solutions to organizational challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in a management role, preferably in a government setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and develop staff.
  • Familiarity with Space Domain Awareness programs, challenges, interfaces, architecture, and stakeholders.
  • Program Management DAWIA Certification (Practitioner) is desired but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading teams in a disaggregated environment.
