The Office of the Clerk of Superior Court, Robeson County, seeks an individual to serve in the position of Deputy Clerk in the legal system of North Carolina. Deputy Clerks perform specialized clerical and administrative work in a Clerk of Superior Court office that involves interacting with the public, processing initial filings, continuances, judgments, and maintaining case documentation. As a Deputy Clerk, you may perform a variety of duties such as, but not limited to, the following: Process cash receipts. Review, prepare, and process criminal and civil cases including misdemeanors, infractions, divorce, child custody, and juvenile cases. Process cases, produce records, and maintain case files in the courtroom during court sessions. Establish and maintain case files for adoptions, determinations of incompetency, foreclosures, motor vehicle liens, etc. Provide sensitive information for juvenile casework to attorneys, Guardians ad Litem (GAL), the Department of Social Services (DSS), and the Department of Public Safety (DPS). Administer estates of the deceased and explain procedures to family members and other authorized representatives.
