About the position

The Deputy Client Technology Officer (DCTO) at Synoptek is a pivotal role that combines the responsibilities of a Chief Technology Officer and a Technology Consultant for a strategic customer. The DCTO will oversee the development and implementation of technology strategies that align with business goals, while also managing day-to-day technology operations and fostering strong client relationships. This position requires strategic foresight, executive presence, and influential leadership to drive business success through technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic IT initiatives and a technology roadmap that aligns with the Customer's goals.
  • Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems.
  • Provide leadership for the continued development of an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment.
  • Ensure the continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end users and monitoring IT systems performance.
  • Act as a principal technology advisor to senior management, ensuring the IT strategy is aligned with Synoptek's business objectives.
  • Manage technology-related projects in support of business priorities.
  • Engage with clients to understand their business needs and translate these needs into technology solutions.
  • Provide strategic and consultative guidance to clients on technology solutions, implementation strategies, and best practices.
  • Develop strong client relationships and ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction.
  • Lead client meetings to discuss and address their technology concerns and needs.
  • Lead and manage technology projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and support of new IT systems and services.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing issues as they arise and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including infrastructure, applications, and user support.
  • Ensure the security of IT systems, including data security, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to IT team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement performance improvement plans as necessary.
  • Drive growth in assigned business areas, achieving year-over-year revenue growth targets.
  • Exceed gross margin targets, maintaining a diversified book of business.
  • Ensure high levels of client retention and satisfaction by proactively managing client relationships and feedback.
  • Develop and maintain a robust project pipeline to support team activities and business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • MBA or similar graduate degree desired.
  • Customarily has at least 15 years of experience in IT management or a similar role.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale IT projects and delivering them successfully.
  • Extensive experience in client-facing roles, providing technology consulting and advisory services.
  • 5+ years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CISM a plus.
