About the position

The Deputy Director (Chief of Staff) at the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) plays a crucial role in supporting the State Director and overseeing various operational functions within the agency. This position is responsible for strategic planning, managing special projects, and ensuring compliance across multiple divisions, including Engineering, Human Resources, and Autism services. The Deputy Director serves as a key point of contact for executive staff and is instrumental in driving innovation and accountability within the agency.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the Chief of Staff for the agency and provides ongoing support to the State Director.
• Responsible for the Agency's accountability report and strategic planning.
• Oversees research, strategy, and innovation regarding the Autism Division, including training initiatives.
• Provides oversight and guidance to the agency's Engineering Department and manages engineering contracts for compliance.
• Oversees the Human Resources and Eligibility Divisions.
• Manages special projects assigned to the agency.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in program management, including executive-level and managerial experience.
