The Deputy Director, DLA Information Operations is a senior executive position responsible for overseeing the effective management of information operations policies and processes that impact both classified and unclassified systems and networks supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) missions. This role requires a strategic approach to IT planning, acquisition, and management, ensuring that all operations align with DLA's objectives and the broader goals of the DoD. The incumbent will provide executive direction and management of IT and telecommunications facilities and resources, ensuring that they are utilized efficiently and effectively to support mission-critical operations. In this capacity, the Deputy Director will coordinate and integrate policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure that IT resources are managed in a manner that is effective, efficient, and economical. This includes managing the DLA IT resource requirements process and developing comprehensive IT configurations, workload, resource, and personnel management plans. The Deputy Director will also be responsible for developing, publishing, and maintaining operational, technical, and systems architectures, as well as data element structures and system security measures that support the DLA mission. The role involves setting goals, priorities, and measures of effectiveness for the DLA IT activity, as well as identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing competing DLA systems design initiatives and changes. The Deputy Director will actively participate in the management and supervision of all DLA IT policies and planning, including investment management, technical architecture, information assurance, and the incorporation of emerging technologies. This position is critical in ensuring that DLA's information operations are aligned with national security objectives and that the agency remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the field.
