About the position
The Deputy District Attorney I/II/III/IV position involves performing professional legal work in the analysis, preparation, and prosecution of criminal cases in Calaveras County. Responsibilities
- Analyze and prepare criminal cases for prosecution.
- Represent the District Attorney's Office in court proceedings.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to law enforcement agencies.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
- Train and mentor lower-level Deputy District Attorneys.
- Supervise daily operations of the District Attorney's Office as needed.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar Association.
- Experience in criminal law and prosecution is preferred.
- Strong analytical and legal research skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in supervising legal staff or interns.
- Familiarity with Calaveras County legal procedures.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
