About the position

The Deputy Division Chief at the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System (OIDS) is responsible for overseeing the management, administrative, and supervisory functions of the Non-Capital Trial Division in the Okmulgee office. This role includes representing indigent clients in various state court cases and ensuring they receive competent legal advice and zealous advocacy throughout the criminal trial process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the satellite office.
  • Supervise staff and oversee administrative duties.
  • Represent indigent individuals in state court for felony, misdemeanor, juvenile delinquency, traffic, and wildlife cases.
  • Provide clients with competent legal advice and advocacy during the criminal trial process.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership and good standing with the State Bar of Oklahoma.
  • 5+ years of legal experience for Level I.
