About the position

The Deputy Inspector General for Mission Support (Chief Financial Officer) at the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) is responsible for overseeing the Office of Mission Support (OMS), which provides essential tools and infrastructure to support TIGTA's mission. The role involves directing human resources, logistics, financial management, and administrative functions, ensuring effective execution of TIGTA's financial plans and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and provide leadership and professional advice to TIGTA on human resources, logistics, financial, and other administrative matters.
  • Formulate the TIGTA budget submission and oversee the execution of financial plans.
  • Coordinate strategic plans and objectives, and assess organizational accomplishments.
  • Recommend policies related to assigned program areas and serve as TIGTA's CFO.
  • Supervise the Assistant Inspector General for Mission Support and oversee various program management services.
  • Assist in providing executive leadership to prevent and detect fraud and abuse in TIGTA's programs and operations.
  • Ensure written products from the Office of Mission Support are clear, concise, and accurate.
  • Monitor progress toward organizational goals and evaluate accomplishments periodically.
  • Participate in the development of TIGTA objectives, policies, and plans for financial and administrative management programs.
  • Represent TIGTA at high-level executive briefings with government officials and Congress.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Experience at or above the GS-15 grade level in federal service or equivalent in other sectors.
  • Evidence of progressively responsible leadership experience indicative of senior executive level management capability.

  • Experience in leading and managing comprehensive human capital and personnel security programs.
  • Experience in managing finance and procurement programs for large organizations.
  • Experience in managing facilities programs covering multi-state geographic areas.
