About the position

The Deputy or Senior Associate Athletic Director, Chief Revenue Officer is responsible for managing the Memphis Athletics Fund (MAF) office and leading fundraising initiatives for the athletic department. This role involves strategic planning, donor relations, and overseeing various fundraising programs, including major gifts and Name, Image, and Likeness efforts. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Memphis Athletics Fund (MAF) office, including football and basketball premium seating and parking, ensuring consistent and appropriate contact with donors.
  • Lead strategic planning of major gifts and manage a portfolio of approximately 200 prospects, setting annual fundraising goals, visits, proposals, and other appropriate metrics.
  • Coordinate major giving programs and execute donor benefit processes, overseeing sport-specific and special initiative fundraising.
  • Oversee the fundraising and development of Name, Image, and Likeness efforts in collaboration with collectives and outside entities as appropriate.
  • Coordinate stewardship efforts at various athletic special events and game day-related activities, including post-season events.
  • Provide strategic leadership for season ticket holder and donor cultivation and communication.
  • Supervise, manage, and direct the ticket sales and sponsorship staff, outside partners, and all corresponding agreements.
  • Serve as Sport Administrator for assigned sport(s).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years in fundraising, direct sales, or relevant experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of gift planning strategies.
  • Strong strategic planning and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to plan effective development strategies for donors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of and experience with fundraising procedures and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with athletic, business, philanthropic, and community leaders.
  • Ability to work effectively with various constituencies in a diverse community.
