About The Position

The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) at SAIC is responsible for overseeing a complex, multi-disciplinary engineering program, particularly in the construction of a multi-story trainer. This role requires strong management and communication skills to ensure adherence to contract requirements, financial oversight, and delivery of technical contract deliverables. The DPM will lead a team, manage financial aspects of a large Fixed Price contract, and engage with senior sponsor executives, ensuring compliance with quality standards and contract obligations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or management-related field.
  • Minimum of 18 years of experience in program management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in DoD contracting, specifically with Fixed Price programs.
  • Experience managing technical scope on contracts valued in the hundreds of millions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs/teams of at least 50 FTEs.
  • Active Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.

  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience with complex technical programs including design, production, fielding, and training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and take ownership of all contract requirements and adherence.
  • Control financial and administrative costs associated with the program.
  • Track and support the Program Manager in delivering technical contract deliverables.
  • Oversee subcontracting and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage financial oversight of a large Fixed Price contract, working with project controllers.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and notify leadership of potential issues.
  • Direct efforts of complex teams across multiple locations.
  • Engage with the Sponsor and representatives on project issues.
  • Drive business and staff development initiatives.
  • Brief leadership on program status, milestones, and progress against plans.
  • Develop procedures and direct execution of contractual and technical activities.
