About the position

The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) at Amentum will balance contract management responsibilities with business development and capture support. This role involves overseeing program execution to ensure compliance, workforce management, financial health, and client satisfaction while also contributing to strategic business growth and proposal development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the PM's deputy, managing administrative reporting, onboarding, offboarding, and training processes.
  • Monitor task execution and deliverable submissions to ensure program efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Provide leadership oversight to Task and Team Leads, mentoring new leaders and fostering talent pipelines for succession.
  • Act as a liaison with government customers to monitor team performance, gather feedback, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Generate and report performance metrics for both internal stakeholders and government clients.
  • Assist the PM in fostering a culture of accountability, customer service, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Implement strategies for driving operational innovation, cross-organizational collaboration, and program performance.
  • Manage transition efforts following contract awards to ensure smooth program start-ups.
  • Participate in the development of strategies and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Market Surveys, and Expressions of Interest (EOIs).
  • Prepare and present capability statements and other business presentations to senior and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate on shaping Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by building customer relationships and identifying organizational strengths and weaknesses.
  • Lead or support the development of technical, management, and cost strategies for bids and proposal efforts.
  • Define winning solutions, strategies, themes, and discriminators, and communicate them clearly to corporate executives and proposal teams.
  • Manage capture plans, coordinating with proposal teams to ensure alignment with customer requirements, risks, and constraints.
  • Develop and mature market strategies by assessing market trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Engage with customers to shape upcoming requirements and ensure a deep understanding of RFPs to support successful proposal development.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college.
  • 5 years of experience with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant managerial experience.
  • Proven ability to manage personnel across multiple locations.
  • Experience supporting business development efforts, including capture management and proposal development.
  • Willingness to travel independently nationwide.
