About the position

The Deputy Project Manager at Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure that projects align with corporate safety and quality policies. This role involves overseeing maintenance scheduling, monitoring facility progress, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Deputy Project Manager will also serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues and will be involved in budget preparation and safety training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction, leadership, and guidance to ensure alignment with corporate/contract safety and quality policies.
  • Oversees all maintenance scheduling, including work in progress and work performed by employees and subcontractors.
  • Continuously monitors the maintenance team facility progress and initiatives ensuring performance work statement (PWS) is being met.
  • Develops plans and coordinates facility service contract projects.
  • Communicates and reports progress to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) on assignments, projects, program issues, milestones, and deadlines for completion.
  • Communicates effectively with subcontractors on maintenance scheduling requirements.
  • Reports daily inspection requirements of maintenance work conducted.
  • Submits documentation of a monitoring system assuring all line items are performed according to contract specifications on a weekly basis.
  • Serves as primary point of contact for all quality-related issues, including management and enforcement of Quality Control Plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Prepares annual budget for Quality and Safety activities and operates within the budgets to meet challenging goals.
  • Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and evaluate performance.
  • Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
  • Champions a sustainable and robust Quality Management System that complies with ISO 9001 and PWS requirements.
  • Generates reports on the suitability of the Quality program and manages several important cross-functional processes.

Requirements

  • Must obtain an Interim Secret Clearance before starting and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years in Quality or Safety Management, or 10+ years in related experience.
  • Familiar with maintenance software (e.g., MAXIMO) and proficient in MS Office.
  • Certified in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, and 30-hour Construction Safety.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership, and dependable work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • ASQ certification in quality management/engineering.
  • Experience in Windows.
